BARONESS Thatcher, 68, fainted during a speech to businessmen in Santiago, Chile, yesterday. She was suffering from a 'nasty tummy bug', said Cynthia Crawford, an aide.

The former prime minister, on a private visit to South America, finished her speech and apologised to her listeners. Miss Crawford, said: 'She felt very queasy and towards the end she fainted. She is resting now - flat out, but very chirpy.'
