The Archbishop of Canterbury to visit Pope John Paul II
The Archbishop of Canterbury is to visit Pope John Paul II in Rome in December, church sources confirmed yesterday.
It will be the second time that Archbishop George Carey has visited the Pope in Rome - the first visit was in May 1992. He will be accompanied by his wife Eileen on the trip, from 3 to 5 December.
While in Rome, the Archbishop and his party will be guests of the Vatican, and will be staying at the Venerable English College.
