The art world has sparked a striking new collection by The Conran Shop. “The Artist & The Collector” incorporates products inspired by the creativity and individualism of the artist and the searching, editorial eye of the collector.

It brings together iconic designs with emerging talent, as well as vintage finds which have been sourced from around the globe.

Exclusive products include the contemporary clean-lined Clarence sofa in grey cashmere, styled with the Abstract geometric cushions in navy blue velvet with yellow linen details.

Magnus Long’s white Arabescato marble-top Workshop coffee table enhances the refined look.

The limited edition Library 27 desk in black walnut by Donald Judd can be matched with drawing utensils including a solid brass ruler and pencil case by Midori and Clementina van der Walt’s hand-thrown, vibrant glazed pots filled with coloured pencils.

Decorative plaster casts from Astier de Villatte add a touch of classicism and charm.

For the dining room, Harry Bertoia’s striking plastic side chair, first designed in 1952, has been reissued with a polypropylene seat. Patricia Urquiola’s Shimmer side table adds sparkle..

A selection of furniture from Brazilian designer Jader Almeida, famous for his modernist style, is also part of the curation.

His range comprises dining and side tables, lounge chairs and storage accessories. The colour palette draws from pigment paints, natural hues and vegetable dyes that inspire the painterly tones of The Conran Shop’s bed linens and textiles.

For true luxury, there is a bed called Clarence in the collection, which has a wooden frame with a 70 per cent cashmere and 30 per cent lambswool upholstery. It is made with 600 thread count cotton bed linen, finished with an embroidered navy edge.

The Conran designers dress it with ombré mohair cushions and blankets in navy and ochre, which were found in Spain.
