Man cleared over Blakelock murder

The widow of PC Keith Blakelock looked shocked after a man accused of stabbing her husband to death during the Tottenham riots in 1985 was cleared yesterday. Nicky Jacobs, 45, punched the air and wept after he was found not guilty at the Old Bailey after a trial based in part on the evidence of men involved in the attack who had been granted immunity from prosecution. A high-fat diet increases the risk of the most common form of breast cancer by a fifth, a study reveals. Heavy consumption of saturated fat had a bigger impact, raising the risk of hormone-sensitive breast cancer by 28 per cent, says the study in the Journal Of The National Cancer Institute.

Wrestling’s Ultimate Warrior dies aged 54

James Hellwig, better known as the professional wrestler Ultimate Warrior, has died at the age of 54. One of pro-wrestling’s biggest stars in the late 1980s, he appeared to predict his own death while being inducted into the sport’s hall of fame this week, saying: “Every man’s heart one day beats its final beat.”
