A middle-aged businessman has given Channel 5 permission to televise the transplant of his kidney to his son today.

Stephen Bennett, from Croydon, south London, will be filmed in Guy's Hospital as surgeons remove his kidney and give it to 21-year-old Richard. The event will be screened on the Hospital Live programme at 7pm. Mr Bennett gave his permission for the operation to be filmed to promote National Transplant Week. The Hospital Live series continues all week.
