THE Prime Minister's promise of a referendum to agree a new political solution in Northern Ireland was premature and presumptious, the Sinn Fein president, Gerry Adams, said. He claimed the province was an artificial and gerrymandered political entity with an inbuilt Unionist majority that was undemocratic and unacceptable.
