About 250 people were evacuated from Gatwick airport, London, yesterday after a second chemical leak within 24 hours. The incident came hours after 45 people were taken to hospital following spillage of a 'dangerous highly toxic' chemical in a warehouse a mile from the passenger terminals.

Both spillages were insecticides. Yesterday's was found to be harmless. On Thursday night 22 20-litre drums of insecticide Chloropicrin leaked.
