Aldi has recalled a batch of chocolates after traces of salmonella were found in the product.

The 200g packs of 'Choceur Treasures' have only been on sale at Aldi stores in the Midlands, including Birmingham, Worcester, Leicester, Derby, Nottingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry and Grantham.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said that no other products were known to be contaminated. Any customers who bought one of the affected products have been advised to return it for a refund.

In a statement, the FSA said: "Aldi has recalled the above product and product recall notices are on display in the relevant stores.

"These notices explain to customers why the product has been recalled and advise them of how to get a refund if they bought it.

"If anyone has bought the above product, do not eat it. Instead, return the product to the nearest store."
