Ambulance calls go up

The London Ambulance Service reported 2,867 emergency calls between 4.00am Saturday and 4am yesterday - an 18 per cent increase on last year's 2,422..

A spokesman said research was being carried out to analyse the increase. He said: "There are increases right across the board - traffic accidents, accidents at home.. and so on".
