THE Conservative Party chairman, Jeremy Hanley, said questions over Lord Archer's share purchases in Anglia Television were 'unlikely to go away within the next couple of weeks'. He said it 'had to be sorted out'. Further details could be revealed by Michael Heseltine, President of the Board of Trade, in the next two or three weeks, he said.

Yesterday the Stock Exchange said it was satisfied that Lady Archer had breached none of its rules, and it would be taking no further action.
