Police armed with machine- guns surrounded a tank in a security alert outside the Old Bailey where two men alleged to be Irish terrorists are accused of plotting a bombing campaign. The tank was driven by John Gladden as a protest against Croydon council banning him from mounting a large fibreglass fish on the roof of his house.
