Cricket fans have welcomed working from home during the Tube strike by celebrating the England team’s success at the Ashes.

Union action from 6.30pm on Wednesday night forced thousands of employees to work from home on Thursday.

But the strike – caused by a dispute over the implementation of 24-hour Tubes from September – had a silver lining for cricket fans, who took to social media to celebrate as they were able to kick back and enjoy the unusually exciting match.

Stuart Broad took two Australian wickets in first over, delighting the crowd in Trent Bridge and those watching from home while ‘working’. England now lead the Ashes series 2-1, and could secure victory for the series in the Fourth Test.

Not that you need tell anyone #WorkingFromHome that.

In fact, the only problem – as many on social media pointed out – was that tomorrow they would have to return to the office. We only hope their bosses don’t follow them on Twitter.
