Bail in race case

John Rutter, 21, of Stepney, east London, charged with attempting to murder a teenager, Quaddus Ali, in an alleged race attack in the East End on 8 September, was remanded on bail at Thames Magistrates' Court until 4 January. Mr Ali is in a coma on a life-support machine.
