Detective work by Lena Collison, 70, from Maidenhead, Berkshire, has revealed that Heinz has reduced the size of its baked bean cans, but kept the price the same, reducing the quantity by an estimated 57 beans. Heinz yesterday admitted that it had shrunk its cans - in line with a EC directive - but had not told consumers.
