A woman who was addicted to bingo was jailed yesterday for five years for killing her mother, Hilda Christian, 89, with a hammer and stealing her money to feed her obsession. Nottingham Crown Court was told that Margaret Allen, 55, spent pounds 16,000 at gambling arcades and bingo halls before the killing.
