JOHN GLADDEN, a businessman in conflict with his local council over his collection of bizarre objects, at Croydon County Court in south London yesterday with an inflatable Winston Churchill figure and a friend dressed as a UN peace-keeper. Croydon council sought an injunction which would force Mr Gladden to remove a replica Spitfire aircraft from the roof of his house in Norbury, and prevent him from putting up further objects. He has a 14ft stuffed marlin on top of his garage and a Centurion tank in his garden. A decision is expected tomorrow.
