A British National Party supporter lost an eye after canvassers in east London were set upon by men armed with iron bars. A group from the far-right party were canvassing door-to-door for the forthcoming local elections in Canning Town on Thursday when they were set upon by up to 10 men.
Michael Davidson, 32, of Stratford, east London, was blinded in his right eye. Three other men were slightly hurt.
