Bookmakers are to tighten security at their offices in Northern Ireland after the latest shooting by loyalist paramilitaries. Staff are expected to be recruited to give greater protection to customers and to try and keep gunmen out, particularly at offices in Catholic areas. A special committee has been set up by bookmakers to discuss new security measures with RUC chiefs.
