Boxer hurt at fight weigh-in
The former world champion boxer Lloyd Honeyghan was detained in hospital last night after allegedly being assaulted with a hammer during the weigh-in for a British title fight.
A fellow boxer, Daren Dyer, was arrested and charged with causing actual bodily harm after the attack at the Thomas A' Beckett gym in Southwark, south London.
Mr Honeyghan, 32, a former world welterweight champion, who won the Commonwealth title in January, had been attending the weigh-in for last night's light-middleweight bout between Andy Till and Wally Swift at the Royal Albert Hall.
