A 13-year-old persistent offender, who hid in air ducts in blocks of flats while on the run, carried a machete while burgling an elderly woman's home, Gosforth Youth Court in Newcastle upon Tyne was told. He denied aggravated burglary but the case was found proved and was adjourned for reports.
