Boy saves family on mountain
Police last night criticised a family group for taking a walk up a mountain in the Scottish Highlands that nearly ended in tragedy.
They praised the quick-thinking of a seven-year-old boy in the party of four, who used his camera flash to draw the attention of rescuers looking for them. But police said the family from Dowanhill, Glasgow, had set out far too late in the day and were not properly equipped for the Sunday walk in Glen Etive, on the 2,820ft Beinn Mhic Chasgaig.
