Two brothers appeared before Newport magistrates, Gwent, yesterday charged with attempted murder after an attack on a man at his home last Friday. Peter Liles, 35, and John Liles, 41, both from Newport, were jointly charged with attempted murder. They were also accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm on the 30-year-old man who is on a life-support machine. Peter Liles also faces a charge of rape.
