TWO brothers appeared in court yesterday charged with the murder of a man who died when hit by a high-velocity distress rocket at the Wales World Cup match in Cardiff.
Andrew McAllister, 30, and Kerry Still, 34, were remanded in custody by Cardiff magistrates until 26 November accused of murdering John Hill, 67, of Merthyr Tydfil, Mid Glamorgan, on Wednesday night. The incident happened seconds after the final whistle of the crucial qualifier game which Wales lost 1-2 to Romania.
Mr McAllister, a carpet fitter and father of three, is from Montgomery Road, Wrexham, Clwyd. Mr Still, an electrician, also a father of three, lives in Chester Road, Wrexham.
An inquest on Mr Hill was opened in Cardiff yesterday.
