A SECURITY FIRM has been called in to guard the home of a football commentator whose house has been burgled six times while he was reporting matches for a local radio station.

Charles Harrison, 47, of Metro Radio in Newcastle upon Tyne, has lost almost pounds 4,000 worth of goods in the raids on his home in the Jesmond area. All have taken place while he was reporting away matches involving Newcastle United and Sunderland.

Two burglaries have come within the past two weeks and his employers have now agreed to provide security cover while he is out working. Mr Harrison said: 'It was as if as soon as this gang heard me on the radio they would break into my home. I've got hardly anything left. They haven't been very sporting.'
