The nearly naked body of a woman aged between 18 and 25 was found at a beauty spot yesterday.

The woman, not yet identified, had been set on fire and was found by visitors to the Alice Holt picnic area near Bordon, Hampshire, at 2.30pm. Police sealed off the area and no one was allowed within a mile.

One senior officer said: 'The victim was half-naked and her body was lying beside the information centre and toilets. There had been no attempt to cover it up.'

Later, Hampshire police were liaising with colleagues in Surrey, where a woman who fits the victim's description, was reported missing on Saturday night.
