Cash for prisoners

The Home Office has said a payment of pounds 2 each to 135 women at New Hall Prison in Flockton, West Yorkshire, was not a bribe. The cash was given to the women after a visit to their cells by the Princess of Wales. A Home Office spokesman said it was 'a thank-you gesture from the governor'.
