Former Petty Officer Frank Hall sheltering a child from the rain at the Royal Naval Patrol Service's annual remembrance of its 2,385 dead at Lowestoft in Suffolk on Saturday. The port was the wartime base of the unit (left, being inspected in 1940), which guarded convoys against submarines.
