Robert Black, serving 10 life sentences for kidnapping and killing three girls, is seeking leave to appeal against his conviction, the Lord Chancellor's Department said yesterday.
Black, 47, a Scottish- born van driver living in London, was convicted in May of kidnapping and murdering Susan Maxwell, 11, Caroline Hogg, 5, and Sarah Harper, 10, in the 1980s. He was also found guilty of kidnapping Terese Thornhill, 15.
