Doctors have discovered that a woman who has been in a coma since she was involved in a road accident four weeks ago is eight weeks pregnant. Melanie Douglas, 19, was hit by a car near her home in Castle Vale, Birmingham. The pregnancy was discovered during a routine scan. Her father John Douglas, 45, said the baby was safe and any decision on the pregnancy would be taken by the family in conjunction with the hospital.
