Jane Giles, 28, a former programme manager at the Scala cinema in King's Cross, London, was convicted of breaching copyright by showing the banned film A Clockwork Orange. She was conditionally discharged and ordered to pay pounds 1,000 towards pounds 3,300 prosecution costs. The film was withdrawn in Britain in 1973 by its director, Stanley Kubrick, after a series of violent crimes.
