Alice Gross disappearance: Police arrest man on suspicion of murder

Police investigating the disappearance of a 14 year-old girl in west London have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.

Alice Gross was last seen walking along a canal towpath near Hanwell on 28 August in CCTV images.

Detectives said that all lines of enquiry remained open and the case was still being treated as a missing persons investigation, as they extended their appeal for witnesses and new information. They are looking to identify cyclists on the Grand Union Canal also seen on the CCTV footage.

Alice left her home earlier in the day and had told her family she would return later, but has not been since.
