A body has been discovered in the hunt for a 49-year-old woman who went missing in the Essex town of Basildon.

The body has not yet been identified but Tina Cantello was reported missing on the evening of 8 June when she failed to return home from work.

Essex Police said a body was found at a property in Langdon Hills on Saturday evening and they have now suspended the search for Ms Cantello.

The property is located two miles from where she was last seen.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

Next of kin have been informed, the force said.

Ms Cantello, who is a door-to-door debt collector, was last seen when she left her home to go to work on Friday evening.

Her car has not yet been found but her phone was recovered a few streets from where the body has been located.
