A teenage boy with a fascination for death was found guilty yesterday of urging his girlfriend to kill herself by jumping off a jetty.

The 15-year-old girl, who made the suicide attempt in January after drinking tequila, was left in a coma for several days with serious head injuries.

A jury at Swansea Crown Court took two hours to find the boy, 15, guilty of attempting to aid and abet another to commit suicide. Judge Gerald Price warned that he was considering a custodial sentence. The court was told during the trial that the boy, from west Wales, had a fascination with death and had graffiti on his wall dedicating his life to Satan.

The boy had dictated a suicide note to his girlfriend and walked her to a jetty on Aberystwyth's seafront, where he allegedly threw her boots into the sea and pushed her towards the end of the jetty.
