Bristol shooting: Man and woman shot in ‘targeted incident’
Pair found with shotgun wounds after armed police called to residential street
A man and a woman have been shot in a “targeted” attack in Bristol.
Armed police officers were called to the incident in the Southmead area of the city shortly before 1am on Thursday.
Patrol officers and paramedics also attended the scene, where a woman was also found to have been injured.
The man and woman were both taken to hospital with shotgun wounds. Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening or life changing.
Police gave no further details about the victims.
The investigation, including forensic examination and house-to-house enquiries, continues.
Detective Inspector James Wasiak, of Avon and Somerset Police, said: “We’ll have extra patrols in the area today both to reassure local people and as we carry out our enquiries.
“While the investigation is at a very early stage, we believe this to be a targeted incident between individuals known to one another.
