At least three stabbed in ‘large disturbance’, police say

Six people are in hospital after a “large disturbance” in Cardiff city centre on Saturday evening. 

At least six people were either taken to or self-presented at the University Hospital of Wales with various injuries following an incident on Queen Street in the city at around 9.50pm on Saturday, South Wales Police said.

At least three are believed to have suffered stab wounds, while one individual was taken to hospital in serious condition after suffering head injuries.

Two others presented themselves at the hospital with minor injuries.

Images posted to social media following the incident showed a strong police presence, with one bystander writing that Queen Street had been “packed full of police cars and ambulances”.

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of causing violent disorder and remain in custody at Cardiff Bay, police said.
