Carpenter arrested in mix-up

Police have apologised to a carpenter for arresting him after he left blood behind when he mended a door broken by a burglar.

Jason Gaspard, 40, cut himself on glass after being asked by the property owner in Hove to make a door secure. But Sussex Police later arrested him when his blood matched police records, and held him in custody before realising their mistake.
