Corry to face England for Barbarians

The former England captain Martin Corry has been named as one of the first five members of the Barbarians squad to face England at Twickenham in May.

Corry was capped 64 times for England, captaining his country on 17 occasions and also playing for the British & Irish Lions on their tours to Australia in 2001 and New Zealand in 2005.

He is joined in the Barbarians squad by four other experienced internationals for the match on Saturday May 30 - Jerry Collins (Toulon and New Zealand), Rocky Elsom (Leinster and Australia), Serge Betsen (London Wasps and France) and Justin Marshall (Saracens and New Zealand).

England manager Martin Johnson said: "It's a game that the whole England squad will look forward to, and we will be aiming to add to the three home wins we enjoyed at Twickenham in the RBS 6 Nations before our two games against Argentina.

"With the obvious exception of England players who will be unavailable because of their selection for the Lions, we will aim to have a strong England team playing against the Barbarians."

Corry added: "I've played for England against the Baa Baas, so I know what a great occasion these games at Twickenham can be.

"I feel privileged to be involved and delighted at the prospect of pulling on that black-and-white jersey again and running out at a ground that means so much to me."
