Four policemen attacked with a butcher's knife following chase
A 32-year-old man was in custody last night on suspicion of attempted murder, after four policemen were stabbed, one seriously, in London yesterday. The man was said to have lashed out with a butcher's knife following a chase down a busy street in Kingsbury.
Witnesses said a man had been pursued by police in and out of shops before he fled into a butcher's, grabbed a knife and attacked the officers.
Chief Superintendent Dalwardin Babu said one of the officers was stabbed in the stomach, a second suffered head injuries and a wound to the arm, the third officer was stabbed in the leg and the fourth suffered a broken hand.
