A man was jailed for life today for his part in the horrific stab murder of a student on a busy main road.

Ahmed Farah, 25, of no fixed address, was arrested last July when he attempted to board a flight to Canada at Heathrow airport.

He was found guilty at the Old Bailey of murdering Mahir Osman, 18, and ordered to serve a minimum of 16 years.

Mr Osman, a mechanical engineering student, was stabbed more than 20 times during a gang fight in Camden, north London, in January 2006.

Three youths were jailed for life for his murder in 2007 and 11 others were jailed for offences connected to the incident.
