A woman has been charged with murder after two suitcases were found filled with human remains in Gloucestershire.

Gareeca Conita Gordon, 27, has been charged with the murder of a woman on or before 12 May.

Mahesh Sorathiya, 38, has been charged with assisting an offender on or before the same date.

The charges come after a member of the public reported a car they saw driving in the Forest of Dean shortly after 10.30pm on Tuesday.

The vehicle was located by police a short while later and two people were spoken to.

Two suitcases were later discovered with human remains inside near a quarry in Coleford.

Gloucestershire Police said a post-mortem examination was found to be inconclusive and further examinations are ongoing to establish the cause of death.

Police are still awaiting results of DNA tests to establish the identity of the victim.

Ms Gordon, of Salisbury Road, Birmingham, and Mr Sorathiya, of Denmore Gardens, Wolverhampton, have been refused bail and are due to appear before Cheltenham Magistrates' Court via video link on Saturday.
