Linford Christie gets driving ban

The Olympic gold medalist Linford Christie was convicted of careless driving at Aylesbury Crown Court yesterday.

He had driven the wrong way along the A413 and collided with a cab taking a newly married couple to a hotel. The driver and a passenger were badly hurt. Christie, 51, of Twickenham, was cleared of dangerous driving. He was given a 15-month driving ban and fined £5,000.
