A man has been charged in connection with the deaths of two people in Canterbury, Kent.

Foster Christian, 53, of Dickens Avenue, Canterbury, has been charged with the stabbing of Simon Gorecki, 47, and Natasha Sadler, 40, Kent Police said in a statement on their website.

Christian is also charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm and will appear before Medway Magistrates' Court on April 5 via video link.

Christian is reported to be a mechanic who lives at the property the police were called to.

Two other people were injured during the incident, including a 16-year-old boy who was left in a critical condition - but is now stable and conscious, Kent Police said.

In addition, two women, aged 18 and 35, were arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. They remain in custody.

Officers attended the scene at Dickens Avenue following reports of an altercation on March 29.

Post-mortem examinations of Ms Sadler and Mr Gorecki are due to take place on Friday.
