Man charged with murder

A man has been charged with the murder of a woman in a seaside town, police said yesterday.

The body of Stella Caroline Gleadall, 50, was found on Friday afternoon at her home in Stennack Gardens, St Ives, Cornwall.

Officers last night charged Tyrone Bates, a 32-year-old man from St Ives, with her murder.

He will appear at Truro Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Senior Investigating Officer DCI Martin Orpe said inquiries are continuing and they are keen to trace anyone who can tell them of Stella Gleadall's movements between Thursday and Friday.
