Man faces court over hospital rape

A 43-year-old man will appear in court today charged with the rape of a woman at a hospital, police said.

A 22-year-old woman told police that she had been forced to perform a sex act on a man at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford on Saturday evening.

Ian Joseph, of no fixed address, was arrested in Southampton, Hampshire, on Monday, Thames Valley Police said.

He was charged with rape yesterday and remanded to appear at Oxford Magistrates' Court.
