Manchester stabbing: Suspect arrested after murder of delivery driver in Beswick
Victim repeatedly stabbed in the leg before attacker fled in early morning attack

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a young delivery driver was stabbed to death.
The victim, in his 20s, was repeatedly stabbed in the leg before the attacker fled in a car in east Manchester.
Identified by locals by the nickname Haze, he was rushed to hospital where he later died.
Police condemned the “senseless act of violence”, and tributes were paid to a “lovely, hard-working guy”.
The stabbing happened in Beswick in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A forensics tent was erected outside a house in a residential street, which was cordoned off.
Victoria Piercy, who used to work in a local shop, said: “He was a lovely, hard-working guy who kept himself to himself. It’s such a tragedy and I’m thinking of all his friends and family, I just cannot believe it.
“He was very friendly, I seen him daily. He was a parcel delivery driver and used to come in for his milk, bread. He always wore a high-vis.
“I’m just gutted for his family. I can’t get my head around it. It’s so cruel.”
The attacker fled in a small light-blue car, possibly a Fiat Punto or Kia Picanto, police said, and appealed for witnesses.
Detective Superintendent Lewis Hughes said: “This is an incredibly tragic set of circumstances which has resulted in a young man losing his life. The victim’s family have been informed of what has taken place and it has understandably left them devastated.
“Such senseless acts of violence have devastating effects on families and cannot be tolerated. I want to appeal to anyone who may have information about the person responsible to please come forward. Help us get answers for a grieving family and bring the person responsible to justice.”
