A man has died after a knife attack took place in Walthamstow, east London, on Wednesday evening.

Two other people were also injured in the stabbing incident on Lea Bridge Road, near the junction with Grove Road, E17.

Metropolitan Police were called to reports of a stabbing at approximately 5.20pm on Wednesday and attended along with the London Ambulance Service.

An 18-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin have been informed, a police spokesperson said.

The two other people found with slash wounds to their hands were taken to an east London hospital. Their injuries have been assessed as non-life threatening.

No arrests have been made “at this early stage”, said the spokesperson, and a crime scene remains in place in the area.
