Nathan Wood: Body found in search for teenager last seen 'naked and tripping near river'
The 16-year-old went missing on Friday
A body has been found in the hunt for missing teenager Nathan Wood.
The body has not yet been formally identified.
The 16-year-old was reportedly last seen "naked and tripping" while heading towards the River Dart in Devon on Friday.
Police said he had been in a "distressed state" and it was feared he may have taken a hallucinogenic drug prior to removing his clothes and then entering the river.
Acting Sgt Kevin Rowe said police were considering a "possibility he may have taken some sort of [formerly] legal high which has had an adverse effect on his behaviour and caused him to behave quite irrationally."
A rescue operation was launched, with deep water divers combing the area today. Police dogs and a police helicopter were also dispatched in the bid to find him.
Inspector Tracy Sharam said: “A member of the public called police reporting that he had seen a teenage boy naked and in a distressed state, running towards the river. He was seen running through a field near the school and although no one actually saw him enter the water, his friends heard a splash."
Nathan's bag, shoes, wallet, trousers and hat were recovered by police, soon after he disappeared.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 999 quoting reference 775 of August 5.
