NSPCC warns of baby neglect

One in four babies in Britain is considered to be at high risk of abuse, neglect or even death because they live with problem parents, according to a new analysis.

The NSPCC report estimates that 198,000 children are born into homes plagued by domestic violence, mental health problems or drink and drug dependency. The results were published to coincide with the launch of the All Babies Count campaign, urging the Government not to cut early intervention services.
