Salford shooting: Six charged over shooting of seven-year-boy and his mother on their doorstep

Six men have been charged over the shooting of a seven-year-old boy and his mother on their doorstep.

Christian Hickey was injured in the leg alongside his mother Jayne, when they opened the door of their home.

The boy was hit once and Mrs Hickey twice in the leg in the attack in Gillingham Road, Salford.

Police have charged six men over the attack in October 2015.

Christopher Hall, 48, of HMP Manchester, Aldaire Warmington, 31, of HMP Hollesley Bay and John Thomasson, 49, of Stockport, have been charged with conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Dominic Walton, 26, of HMP Long Lartin, James Coward, 22, of HMP Risley and Lincoln Warmington, 31, of Salford have also been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Two other men have also been charged over a shooting in Wigan police said, after a 28-year-old man was blasted at a car wash in Ashton-in-Makerfield, in March 2015.

John Kent, 53, of Salford has been charged with conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Jacob Harrison, 25, Salford has been charged with conspiracy to murder.

All eight will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court.
