Shayler found guilty of secrets charges

The former MI5 officer David Shayler was facing a prison sentence today after being convicted of revealing security secrets.

Shayler, 36, was found guilty of all three charges at the Old Bailey of disclosing information, documents and information from telephone taps under the Official Secrets Act.

The prosecution said he had potentially placed the lives of secret agents at risk.

The sentencing is is due tomorrow.
